Preventive Dental Care Exams, Dental Cleanings, and X-rays Diagnostic and preventive services such as dental exams, dental cleanings, and x-rays are key for prevention and should be preformed every 6 months for most patients.

Fluoride Treatments:
You can get the fluoride you need from several sources toothpaste, drinking water, or professionally applied fluoride treatments. There is no age limit for this service.

Sealants:
A thin plastic coating that are put on the chewing surfaces of teeth to protect them from decay. They are most effective when applied as soon as possible after the permanent teeth come in. Sealants are painted, in liquid form, onto clean dry teeth and harden in just a few seconds. Sealants should only be placed on teeth which are cavity free.

An Ounce of Prevention:
Proper brushing, a healthy diet, and regular visits to your dentist will help reduce the risk of serious dental problems. Preventive care is important for everyone especially for children. Good dental habits start at an early age. Spending just a few minutes a day observing your child's brushing techniques can provide a lifetime of healthy smiles.
